Individuals interested in assisting the Executive Director, Board Chair, or other member of Hope Development Practice (HDP) leadership should possess the following qualities:
** Please note all VASA positions are project specific and report to the HDP leader responsible for that project.
Appetite for learning more about the interworking of a nonprofit.
Ability articulate own needs and accommodations in completing a task.
Ability to accurately assess one's ability to complete a task.
Some familiarity with administrative work. (i.e. Microsoft Word, Google docs, Excel, etc.)
Possession of a working communication device such as a phone, computer, or tablet.
Ability to check Gmail according to schedule agreed upon with supervisor.
English literacy and fluency to the extent of composing posts, emails, letters, etc. for proofreading and task submission.
Sense of urgency in task completion in order to accomplish complex tasks in a timely fashion.
Humility in being able to ask for assistance when needed, or acknowledge if a task is too much.
Spirit of cooperation and collaboration.
VASA duties will vary depending on the project, but will predominately consist of basic administrative functions comprised largely of "office-type" work.
