Plateau Pride 2023

In our second year, we faced a lot of rain. Despite that, we had a beautiful event filled with love, laughter, and light. Check out some of the images and videos from our 2023 Plateau Pride! Seattle Times covered the second year event in this article.

Each year at Plateau Pride we do a community art event and activity center for youth and families to engage in creative modalities, that we also borrow from in our therapy practices. Individuals and families are encouraged to make art that expresses and represents them. In our second year, youth were able to make 16"x24" canvas paintings and take them home! We wouldn't have been able to offer that opportunity without generous donations of first and second hand canvases by our community members.

We owe a MASSIVE shout out to our PRIME Queen, Galactic Molasses for showing up at 100, serving full face, full gown, and live vocals all day long!

Drag is a quintessential part of the Queer community. We have been cared for, fought for, and represented in full by the drag portion of our community for more years than the larger public was aware of our existence. From throwing bricks at the Stonewall when cops were requiring genitals checking in order to "validate" the persons entering the bar matched their ID, to sharing stories of love and representation, to starting homeless shelters for youth kicked out by their blood kin, Drag is at the heart of our community. Thank you to Justin Hollywood and Galactic Molasses for helping us make this state a little safer for all.
