Every person has a story to tell and deserves a place to express their experiences and feelings related to their journey through life. Stories often hold great joy and happiness along with great loss, pain, and trauma. Holding all these story components together can sometimes create energy that negatively impacts behavioral patterns and relationships that can be difficult to understand alone. Finding alliance and empathy through the therapeutic process can give that energy a place to be acknowledged, processed, and healed, ultimately by gaining insight for lasting coping skills and the ability to care for oneself.
Each person has an intersectionality of many diverse identities and that impacts the overall attunement within oneself and with those around us. I grew up in a lower income household in a small rural town in Florida. I am a neurodivergent millennial that will possibly always have a cup of tea or coffee in my hand along with my emotional support water bottle. My husband and I along with our 3 kids and family pup transplanted to Tacoma, WA in 2023. I acknowledge privileges I have as a white, cisgendered, AFAB (assigned female at birth), woman and I work to address socially marginalizing and oppressive constructs. I am a gender affirming provider for the LGBTQIA2S+
community.
I approach the therapeutic process utilizing DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), and trauma informed care. Although these are my main lenses, working collaboratively is needed to establish what approach and interventions will work best to achieve your goals for therapy. I show up in the therapeutic space present, mindful, and empathic towards your lived experiences. It is an honor to share space with clients, and I look forward to working with you on your journey.
