Audrey Flour, Clinical Art Therapy Intern
they / them
I am currently at Pratt institute receiving my MPS in Art Therapy and Creativity Development. I have an interest in exploring the therapeutic aspects that come from art making and materials. On this journey towards becoming an Art Therapist I have worked with children with developmental disabilities, adults managing depression and anxiety, and older adults with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Art Therapy gives space to explore verbal and nonverbal exploration of the therapeutic process through the art making process. I find that Art Therapy is a tool for community building and a place for personal growth.
As an Art Therapist, I believe in the healing nature of creative expression to deliver deeper and richer therapeutic work than what can be achieved using words alone. I take an eclectic approach to Art Therapy with a focus on Person-Centered and Trauma-informed practices while also exploring relational dynamics that arise in a person's lived experiences and how that impacts the therapeutic process.
