My understanding of healing and growth comes from my experience as a therapist and a client. I have navigated my mental health since I first experienced my own struggles at 13. Being in therapy completely changed my life and helped me find my strength. Being a client is what inspired me to become a therapist. And being a therapist is how I intend to pass on the growth and knowledge I developed.
I believe that community support and self compassion is what supports a person to thrive and repair. I also believe that one of the most important tools someone can have is the power of knowledge. I intend to help provide the space for this by offering art therapy approaches for this exploration and lots of psychoeducation. Knowing more about ourselves strengthens our agency for change and allows us to take control of our path. I have learned that art is an empowering tool to process our stories and learning. I have seen the effectiveness in my work with others. It is also what inspired me to become a therapist as I realized that a lot of the art I make is me processing unspoken feelings. This provides a nonverbal avenue that activates parts of us that talk therapy might not be able to reach on its own.
My background influences my approach and my areas of focus. I am queer, neurospicy, witchy, and use a lot of humor. Using an integrative philosophy is where I have found the most effectiveness in helping my clients. Narrative Therapy, Bowenian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), humanistic approaches, and attachment theory are some of my main interests. These are supported by an anti-oppressive and systemic lens that acknowledges all of the external parts of your journey that impact you. Some of my main areas of focus include working with anxiety, trauma, LGBTQIA2s+ populations, and neurodivergence such as ADHD, Autism, and Bipolar Disorder. I am currently earning my Masters in Couple and Family Therapy with Art Therapy specialization at Antioch University Seattle.
You are the expert on your life. I intend to collaborate with you and be a facilitator to your growth by providing you the space for you to thrive.
