he / him

Supervised by Abby White

Hello, my name is Jess, and I use the pronouns he/him. I’ve always been one of the helpers: I’ve found that when I am using my skills and abilities to help better our world, I am at my most fulfilled. I am interested in nurturing human flourishing and discovering the myriad of pathways which we can use to get there. As a systems based therapist, I feel that the connection that each of us has to the people and world around us is under-utilized as a support. Realizing the effect(s) that these connections provide, along with the solutions and directions which we can create together, is part of what I feel our therapeutic time together will entail. I am attracted to the experiential modes of therapy, Emotionally focused and Narrative Therapies. I believe mindfulness based therapies are an important way to access our interior selves.

I'm a first year student in Seattle Pacific University's Marriage and Family Therapy graduate program. My undergraduate studies were interdisciplinary, focusing in technology education and art. I am a lifelong learner, and hope that I never stop! There is always an exciting new thing to learn, experience to have, or perspective to explore. My (pre-thrapy) work has informed my development as well. My work history is with individuals with special needs in supported community living situations and teens in an alternative educational setting.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, rollerskating, reading, woodworking, exploring the Outdoors - specifically the beaches of the Salish Sea, and the occasional video game session. I look forward to meeting you!
