she / they
Welcome! I’m Carrie (she/they). I’m a queer and neurodiverse therapist who provides a gentle, supportive space. Here, you don’t have to mask, perform, or have everything figured out. Together, we’ll move at a pace that honors your nervous system and your lived experience, making room for clarity and self-trust to grow.
I often support those navigating: late-diagnosed neurodiversity, anxiety, anxious thought loops, patterns of self-checking that feel hard to stop, self-criticism, gender or sexuality identity, burnout, nightmares and stress dreams, or life transitions. I primarily work with neurodiverse, LGBTQAI+, and women-identifying folks.
I use an integrative approach that blends talk therapy and art therapy. My sessions are grounded in person-centered, feminist, and Gestalt principles. I incorporate CBT and mindfulness when helpful. This approach allows you to explore thoughts and feelings, learn practical coping strategies, and express yourself in ways that feel natural.
What is art therapy? Art making allows for meaningful nonverbal exploration of our inner worlds, which can lead to significant reflection, insight, and healing. In our sessions, I may invite you to make a simple drawing, respond to a prompt, or do a brief art-based check-in. Some sessions may involve more art-making, while others may be mostly talking. You’re welcome to use whatever materials you have on hand (pens, markers, your latest knitting project, collage, or even just a pencil and paper). The focus is on expression, not on making “good” art. Art-making is always optional - never a requirement - and you don’t need any previous art experience.
As a white therapist, it’s important to name systemic power dynamics that may impact the therapeutic process. I invite open conversations about identity, privilege, and oppression. I aim to create a space that is trauma-informed, inclusive, and anti-oppressive.
I am a registered Agency-affiliated Counselor (CAAR-CG.61615408) and a registered provisional art therapist (ATR-P: 25-698). I graduated from Antioch University with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Art Therapy in 2025. I have been practicing since 2024.
