Since I was young, I have always been interested in stories. As I grew, I realized that the way in which we conceptualize ourselves and our place in the world is a fundamental part of the stories we live in and embody. As a counselor, my aim is to help others to gain insight and understanding of who they are and what they want. I want people to have a healthy relationship with themselves, and feel comfortable knowing themselves. This is a task I have learned is often a long journey with its own roadblocks and detours, but also ultimately a potentially affirming and empowering experience.
I utilize a lot of mindfulness strategies, narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing to help people get to the core of who they are, who they want to be, and how they want to get there. Although it is your journey, you do not need to do it alone. I am currently a graduate student at Antioch University pursuing a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling.
