Heather Huckett, BS, Intern

(she/her)

I am a Couple and Family Therapy Intern currently finishing my master’s degree and Sex Therapy certification at Antioch University Seattle. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Washington State University, which motivated me to pursue my passion for helping people in various levels of distress. I believe that we are made up of many different parts and those parts are often in conflict with one another which creates a certain amount of chaos in our personal, professional, and romantic relationships. I believe that individual mental health is not only an individual journey, but also a systemic journey with a steady flow of ups and downs.

As a therapist I strive to help people to identify the parts of themselves that are in distress and create a realistic approach to therapy. By treating the individual, family, or couple in relation to their larger systems, achievable and sustainable change will follow.

I believe that therapy is a human experience which changes as we change as we are the experts of our individual experiences and truths. I incorporate compassion, empathy, and realism in all aspects of my life including how I collaboratively approach therapy with my clients.
